Dear Lauren Boebert and Adam Frisch:
Who is the
real problem solver?

ADAM FRISCH
The Challenger
LAUREN BOEBERT
The Incumbent

Colorado’s
COMMON SENSE MAJORITY WANTS TO KNOW
We’re pragmatists who can work through differences when we talk
Do-Nothing Extremists don’t speak for us.
We’re Coloradans with Common Sense.
Half-Red, Half-Blue, and a mix of the two.
The divided majority. The Silenced 70%.
There are 374,553 of us in Colorado’s CD-3.
Yet you may not hear us much.
Power brokers like it that way.
They keep us divided, in separate media echo chambers.
They drown out our voices, by amplifying our extremists.
They send us into battle, against each other.
While we fight, they take our money and power.

But no more. Now we’re IN THIS TOGETHER. Pragmatic common sense problem-solvers. And we’re here to take back our money and power.
Here are six honest questions for you:
Will you put your party’s power first, or America first?
Will you tell us who to fear and hate?
Or how we can all make America great?
How will you help us protect our freedom? Our prosperity? Our environment?
How will you do all three, at the same time?
Is electoral fraud real? Is it caused by gerrymandering? Closed primaries? Ballot manipulation? Voting machines? What action, if any, would you take?
Is climate change real? Is a significant cause the burning of fossil fuels? Do you care much about it? What action, if any, would you take?
The answers.

1. Will you put your party’s power first, or America first?
I will always put the best interests of the country ahead of political benefit or party power. Over the past several years, too few elected officials have done this, and the lasting damage to our institutions and our national fabric has been significant. We need more people like Liz Cheney. People who, regardless of their political stances on any given issue, have the courage and moral compass to call out actions that put the fate of our democracy at stake, even at great personal expense. The pressure to submit to the party line is one of the biggest problems with our current political environment. Prioritizing political purity over solutions for constituents undermines faith in our institutions and our government. The first thing I will do after being sworn in is join the Problem Solvers Caucus, a bipartisan group of 29 Democrats and 29 Republicans focused on passing common sense legislation with bipartisan support. For decades, I have stated “if there was a Get Stuff Done Party, I would be in that party – but that party is not doing well right now. And our country is suffering for it.

2. Will you tell us who to fear and hate? Or how we can all make America great?
I will never use my position to denigrate or demean people or to incite people to hate those who disagree with me. Here in America, we do not have political enemies, we have political differences. When I get to Congress, I will work with anyone from any state or any party to get things done for my constituents. From Day One, I have said my goal is to be in the top ten most bipartisan lawmakers ranked by the Lugar Center. The current representative is ranked 443 of 445 when it comes to bipartisanship, and her lack of any successful legislation is the result. She is 0-39 in passing her legislation. It is really hard to get things done for your constituents when you spend all your time attacking your colleagues. The increasing demonization of those who do not share our political views is undermining our shared sense of unity and purpose, and I will work every day to build meaningful personal and professional relationships with my colleagues so we can do the work of the American people.

3. How will you help us protect our freedom? Our prosperity? Our environment?
Protecting America’s freedom means being vigilant here at home and abroad. Having spent my career working in over 50 countries, I know how important it is for America to remain engaged on the world stage. When we are not, the world is a more dangerous place. We must maintain a strong national defense. Here at home, we must protect the rights of all Americans – from freedom of speech, to voting rights, to reproductive freedoms – from government overreach. In Congress, I will work to expand the rights and protections of all Americans.
Protecting our prosperity will require us to pass policies that expand economic opportunity for all. To do this we must make sure every kid in our country has access to a world class K-12 education and postsecondary opportunities – from college to vocational schools – that will allow them to be prepared to join the workforce. Here in Colorado, we need to make sure we place special emphasis on growing the economies of rural and remote communities, some of which are the poorest in the nation, by providing the resources for infrastructure, broadband, and economic diversification.
Finally, we must acknowledge the climate crisis and take action. Whether you are a rancher, a resort owner, or a recreation business, your livelihood is affected by the climate crisis. Colorado is a leader in clean, low carbon traditional energy production, producing the cleanest natural gas in the world. We should embrace this energy source as a bridge fuel. The Centennial State is also a leader in renewable energy generation. Ten years ago, renewables accounted for around 10% of our energy supply. Now they are nearing 25%. This is a good trendline, but to continue on this trajectory we need to invest in its future from transmission lines to workforce development.

4. How will you do all three, at the same time?
The foundation of success for all of these is a functioning democracy. As I have said from day one, my first action in Congress will be to join the Problem Solvers Caucus, a bipartisan group of 29 Democrats and 29 Republicans focused on passing common sense legislation. All of these issues are too big for one party to solve, math tells us bipartisanship is the only way forward. Just as 80% of voters want thoughtful solutions, I believe 80% of the members of Congress do as well, but they are constrained by the 20% who are in it for all the wrong reasons. To get these things done, I will relentlessly work to build consensus and bring people together to get things done for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District and for America.
4. How will you do all three, at the same time?

5. Is electoral fraud real? Is it caused by gerrymandering? Closed primaries? Ballot manipulation? Voting machines? What action, if any, will you take?
We have no meaningful examples of voting fraud in significant numbers, and those who espouse the idea that our elections are not free, fair, and secure exist in an alternative reality. That said, things like gerrymandering and closed primaries do serve to cultivate more extreme candidates, and I am fully supportive of processes like open primaries, jungle primaries, and ranked choice voting that increase participation and produce more moderate candidates that truly reflect the will of the voters.

6. Is climate change real? Is a significant cause the burning of fossil fuels? Do you care much about it? What action, if any, would you take?
There is no doubt that we are in the midst of a climate crisis caused by increased carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas levels in our atmosphere, and it is cause for great concern. Here in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, our entire economy is dependent on water, and the trend toward warmer temperatures and aridification endangers our snowpack and therefore our resorts, our ranchers, and the water supply of all of our residents. The rivers that originate in our state supply nearly 40 million people in the western United States. To address this issue, it is imperative that we embrace more renewable and lower carbon energy generation, while also exploring carbon capture and sequestration technologies to reverse some of the damage that has already been done. To be most effective, we must be realistic about speed and bring together a broader coalition of people with us on this to achieve meaningful policy change on this issue. Finally, we must also remember that domestic energy production is integral to our national security and economic interests. Our country is weaker when we are relying on energy from nations like Venezuela, Russia, or Iran, who seek to undermine our interests and whose track records on environmental protections, labor protections, and upholding the rules-based order are dismal, to say the least.

7. What is your view of the effects of our current polarized political climate, and what steps will you take to bring more “common sense problem solving” to Washington D.C.?
The entire reason I am running is because our current representative is the co-leader of what I call the Anger-tainment Industry along with her mentor Marjorie Taylor Green, and I believe it is time to return dignity to public service. The current levels of polarization are an imminent threat to our democracy. To reverse them, we need more elected officials to set aside party politics and put the best interests of constituents and country first. As I mentioned above, my first action in Congress will be to join the Problem Solvers Caucus, as I am committed to building bridges and working with anyone, from any party and any state to make Colorado and America stronger and make life better for every American.
